DJ Esteban La Groue brings Chicago’s musical spirit to the dance floor. A DJ, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and record collector, he draws from soul, funk, reggae, Latin music, hip-hop, and rock to create sets with personality, rhythm, and a sense of discovery.

His work spans late-night club sets, vinyl sessions, festivals, and wedding celebrations. Chicago audiences can find him on the lineup for The Switch Up with Danny Dan at The Owl, while his appearances at Pilsen Yards spotlight his love of funk, soul, and records made to move a room. His event credits also include Chicago’s Slow & Low festival and a wedding celebration at Fairlie.

Beyond the turntables, Esteban creates music of his own. His releases include Optimist International and Esteban Takes Control, reflecting a creative practice that extends from selecting records to playing instruments, arranging, and producing. He is also part of the Ximeno Tag Team alongside Danny Holloway.

Joining Spark Entertainment Group for the 2027–2028 season, Esteban brings a collector’s curiosity, a musician’s perspective, and years of experience behind the decks. His approach centers on the music and the people sharing it—bringing his distinctive sound to celebrations with a dance floor at their heart.
