  • We are all open format, club style DJs. Open format means that we play music from different genres and cohesively mix them to create one live mix of music that appeals to people from different generations and backgrounds. As club style DJs, we don’t believe in passively mixing. You can expect our DJs to play the same way DJs play at your favorite club. In fact we are likely to play close to 30 songs an hour once your party really gets going!

  • We specialize in private invite only events. However, most of our DJs have public bookings as well. So if your DJ has a public gig lined up, you are more than welcomed to attend. Attending another brides wedding is a “no no” for us.

  • We’ve played hundred of venues around our headquarters in Chicago. If by chance we haven’t played your venue, we will definitely schedule a walk through with you to discuss logistics and set up concerns with you.

  • Absolutely…. At SEG we don’t believe in cookie DJ sets. Instead, our goal is to get to know you and your partner so that we can craft a unique soundscape that is just right for your wedding. Our job is to play the right songs when the moment is right with awesome transitions that keep the flow and energy going!

  • Are you looking for the musical flexibility of a DJ combined with the sound, look and feel of a live band? We can help you to create your own Hybrid band. Let us know what instruments are most important to you. We have many satisfied customers that selected our drummers to play along side our DJ. You can also use multiple instruments to accompany your DJ. We also have professional vocalists as well.

  • Typically all equipment is included in our published pricing. We do offer rental stages for clients who want to enhance their entertainment presentation.

  • Each package includes dance floor lighting. We offer enhanced lighting options in our higher tiered package along with other cool lighting and effects that can be purchased a la carte.

  • We are really proud to be industry trendsetters in this department. We offer our clients professional A/V set ups by our formally trained A/V technicians. This gives your DJ the ability to focus on whats most important, the music.

  • Our A/V team has attended hundreds of private events and they know how a room should sound. As your event progresses, our sound engineer checks the sounds from various parts of the room to make sure that the sound is balanced and the volume is set optimally

  • We dress properly for the occasion. At weddings we are always sharp and classy. For more casual events, we are stylish, hip and trendy. We take how we look seriously.

  • Standard packages range 6 – 7 hours. You can add time a la carte if needed.

  • All of our private event clients will receive an online planning account that allows them to create a must playlist with their personal requests. At the actual event, your DJ will graciously take any requests given and play them when the time is right. At no time will we compromise your packed dance floor to accommodate a request that might not fit in the moment.

  • Yes, your DJ will not only play music but they will also handle all hosting duties as needed.

  • We book an average of 200 plus select events each year.

  • No, it is our policy to only do one event each day if we have a wedding booked. We like to be focused on your special day.

  • In the event your DJ falls ill, we will immediately arrange for a replacement DJ from our in house roster or from our network of DJs. The process is transparent to you and your substitute DJ will have all of the same information that your regular DJ has via your online planning account.

  • Yes, we carry 1M in generally liability insurance for each event up to two occurrences.

  • We carry critical back up equipment to each event. That includes replacement speakers, microphones and an extra laptop.

  • Deposits are non refundable. If for any reason you decide to cancel, you can use your deposit as a credit towards another event that will take place up to twelve months after your notice of cancelation.

  • Our specialty is open format DJing for everyone in a room.

  • We don’t do pre planned sets. It’s virtually impossible to know what a crowd will like before seeing and feeling that crowd. We do accept a must playlist from our clients. Our goal is to be in the moment and read the crowd and select songs that compliment the event.

  • Yes, after you complete your online wedding planner we will prepare a DJ wedding agenda for your review and use.
